Parveen Shakir Poetry

Parveen Shakir was an Urdu poet, teacher and a civil servant of the Government of Pakistan. Parveen started writing at an early age and published her first volume of poetry, "Khushbu" to great acclaim, in 1976. She subsequently published other volumes of poetry – all well-received – Sad-barg [Marsh Marigold] in 1980, Khud Kalami [Talking To Oneself] and Inkaar [Denial] in 1990, Kaf-e-Aina [The Mirror's Edge] besides a collection of her newspaper columns, titled Gosha-e-Chashm [Corner of the Eye], and was awarded one of Pakistan's highest honours, the Pride of Performance for her outstanding contribution to literature in 1976. The poetry books are collected in the volume Mah-e-Tamaam [Full Moon] with the exception of Kaf-e-Aina.

Parveen Shakir fue un poeta urdu, maestro y funcionario del gobierno de Pakistán. Parveen comenzó a escribir a una edad temprana y publicó su primer volumen de poesía, "Khushbu" con gran éxito, en 1976. Posteriormente publicó otros volúmenes de poesía, todos bien recibidos - Sad-barg [Marsh Marigold] en 1980, Khud Kalami [Hablando con uno mismo] e Inkaar [Negación] en 1990, Kaf-e-Aina [The Mirror's Edge] además de una colección de columnas de su periódico, titulada Gosha-e-Chashm [Corner of the Eye], y fue galardonada con una de las de Pakistán los máximos honores, el Orgullo de la actuación por su destacada contribución a la literatura en 1976. Los libros de poesía se recogen en el volumen Mah-e-Tamaam [Luna llena] con la excepción de Kaf-e-Aina.
